Bequest Donation

Leaving money in your will to Carefirst Foundation is one of the most important funding sources for continuing our services.

Supporting services such as our Family Health Team and One-Stop Multi-Access Service Centre through a bequest means you can continue to help make caring possible. Including the Carefirst Foundation in your Will is a way of making a significant contribution to our services.

If you would like more information on writing your Will, please contact the Carefirst Foundation office.

Securities

Gifts of securities are ideal donations for individuals who have much of their finances tied up in investments. Carefirst Foundation are happy to accept donations of securities. The tax benefits of this type of gift - especially if the shares have appreciated significantly - can be surprisingly high.

For more information about giving shares or securities, or to discuss a project or program you are interested in, please contact the Carefirst Foundation office.

Life Insurance

Using life insurance is an excellent way of ensuring continuing support for the seniors and Carefirst Seniors & Community Services Association. It will also provide significant income tax relief during your lifetime.

Here is how it works:

You as a donor and supporter of Carefirst Seniors & Community Services Association apply for a life insurance policy and assign it to Carefirst Seniors & Community Services Association where Carefirst owns the policy and is the beneficiary. What is important to both you and Carefirst is that your support will not stop, as Carefirst will receive the tax-free proceeds in the future.

You may also assign an existing life insurance policy to Carefirst and will receive a charitable donation receipt for the cash value at the time of assignment, as well as, on-going donation receipts for future premiums paid.

If you are interested in charitable giving as to ensure continued support for Carefirst Seniors & Community Services Association, or would like to enjoy the tax saving benefits by making donation to Carefirst in the form of Gifts-in-kind, e.g. stocks, bonds, real estate, please contact Nancy Leung, Fundraising Project Coordinator, at (416) 502-2323 ext. 6012 for further information.
